Funeral – Memorial Service Gig – Feb 5

This was the most up-beat Funeral memorial service I’ve ever played.
The amazingly bubbly Desiree Hyde approached me to play for her Dad’s ‘Celebration Of Life’ at the Boronia Kitchen in Gladesville.

She wanted background music, not too sad as it was to be an up tone and positive celebration of life, rather than a sad memorial type service.

Boronia Kitchen is a spectacular venue with a street-front cafe and restaurant and a nice function room adjacent.

The staff is lovely and the kitchen made me a nice meal during one of my breaks.

Desiree’s family and close friends were really cheerful and enthusiastic and it actually turned into a real celebration with a little more than background music.
I played lots of classics in memory of her Dad, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Johnny Cash etc.

They had a lunch and were all singing and clapping.
Some of them even got some sneaky dancing in up the back so they wouldn’t be caught by any patrolling Covid Marshalls lol.

It was just a great happy Funeral memorial service lunch gig with a bunch of positive family and friends.

I was so glad to be part of a such celebratory occasion.

“I booked Tim for my dad’s “celebration of life” and he was absolutely brilliant! Tim played fantastic songs and had all of us up clapping and singing along and dancing. I must have impressed the guests as I was asked to play a work Xmas function later in the year and also an upcoming Xmas in July gig.
